WHAT IS EXTENDED RESPONSIBILITY OF PRODUCERS AND IMPORTERS?
The extended responsibility of producers and importers is a summary of the obligations of producers and importers with regards to the reserved product, as set out in the law or in a specific regulation applicable to production throughout all its life cycle, to prevent waste from the reserved product and to encourage re-use, recycling or other recovery of this waste stream.
WHAT MEANS THE FULFILLMENT OF RESERVED OBLIGATIONS?
Pursuant to the provisions of the Waste Law, producers of reserved products (eg batteries and accumulators) are obliged to ensure the care of this product for the entire life cycle of the product, including care for waste that is generated at the end of the product's life.
WHO IS THE PRODUCER AND IMPORTER OF BATTERIES AND ACCUMULATORS?
The person who places batteries or accumulators manufactured in the SR or imported from abroad (ie importer) including batteries and accumulators incorporated into instruments or motor vehicles, in the Slovak Republic. (art. 42 subparagraph (14) of Law No.79/2015 Coll, regarding waste management)
