- Never overcharge a battery after reaching 100% capacity –battery overheats and degrades (although some accumulators are equipped with integrated overcharge protection)
- Never let a battery discharge completely – long-term and frequent discharge reduces the life span of battery
- It is recommended to charge a battery when 20% capacity is reached
- It is recommended to keep a battery at 20% – 80% capacity. The capacity of accumulator lasts approximately 3 times longer at 40%
- Every sixth charging should be done at slow mode
- Always use a charger supplied with the device – use of inappropriate charger may not only permanently damage the battery but also cause its ignition
- Always charge a battery placed on a hard cold surface, e.g. charging under a pillow causes overheating
- Never store a battery completely discharged for a long time – although the rate of discharge is relative slow during storage, it might not be possible to reactivate the battery if the voltage drops below 2.8 V
- Always store a battery in a cold place (5 – 15° C). Higher storing temperatures reduce the lifetime of batteries
